Corporations fall into lots of different categories based on lots of different characteristics. One word people use to refer to those categories collectively is “sector.” “Sector” is a word that gets used in different ways and so can be confusing. For instance, sometimes “sector” refers to the type of business that a corporation does – mining, groceries, and TikTok makeup tutorials are some examples. That’s not what “sector” means in Ground-Up Governance. From now on “sector” refers to a corporation’s more fundamental purpose. Our next few posts will define some of them.
